Liz has been a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for the last 11 years, working primarily with adults in the hospital setting, and also occasionally providing care to mothers and babies in the postpartum period. She started her apprenticeship with Beth in March of 2008. She is CPR certified for infants through adults, certified in Neonatal Resuscitation, and in Acute Care Life Support for the adult. She also has personal experience in natural childbirth in the hospital and home, as well as breastfeeding newborn through toddler years.
She is a mother of 5 boys and 1 girl, and birthed the youngest 3 at home with midwives. Her husband, Chalan, stays home to care for the kids while Liz works for Christus Spohn Health system at their local hospitals 3-4 days a week, and trains with Beth 1-3 day per week. Liz absolutely believes that birth should be a beautiful, special, and sacred experience for the mother, father, baby, and other family involved. She feels very blessed to be able to assist in helping babies in to the world, and loves the service she gets to provide to mom and baby during prenatal visits, birth, and postpartum visits.
